Sunderland riot: Clean-up after ‘thuggery and violence’

2. The comments at the Daily Mail on this are mind-blowing. More normal people should comment there because the extremists, nutjobs, and Russian trolls are peddling dangerous lies that a frightening number of people believe. It’s the most popular paper in the English-speaking world and it matters.

3. It shows the people of Sunderland can pull together in the face of the vile hatred and being terrorised by the worst in our society.

   The UK has fought the fascists before and won, we will do it again.

4. What have they achieved apart from wrecking their city (and it is not like Sunderland is lovely to begin with) and proven to everyone that they are violent thugs? They have made themselves easier to discredit and to not even bother dealing with. If they wanted to continued to be vilified and to have their issues ignored by society then mission accomplished.

7. That’s a very low amount of arrests. Protesting is fine, rioting is not. Any real rioters should be arrested and jailed for all the damage. It’ll be tricky in a big crowd but should be doable.

8. Almost there lads, I’m sure a few more torched cars and police stations will make kids will feel much safer in this country.
