Very interesting monument, never knew it was there. I wonder if you guys think the same as your ruler about Armenia or your opinions are more positively) Tbh I don’t like Orban and his party at all, but I’d like to visit Hungary one day (after Orban’s party😭).

  1. Viktor says so much bullshit that I can’t even keep up with it. What is his problem with the armenians now?

  2. You have nothing to fear here if you visit. Anybody that says otherwise is hyperbolic and is not a realist.
Orban says a lot of stupid things but the country is still very very safe. You won’t get reprimanded, even if you fly a huge Armenia flag – nobody will care. Most don’t even know your flag.

  3. I think the general population has a pretty positive attitude towards Armenians and the rest probably doesn’t even know about it’s existence.

Orbán is trying to keep a good relationship with pretty much every totalitarian regime: Russia, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan etc. You know, “birds of feather flock together”. But the general population is either against it or is indifferent, very few actually support this.

If you were to visit I would assume you would spend most of your time in Budapest (though the rest of the country is also worth visiting). Budapest is basically the polar opposite of Orbán and Fidesz, it’s a very liberal city and is lead by the opposition. It is also one of the safest cities in Europe much more than London or Paris for example. So if you want to visit there’s nothing to worry about, in fact in my opinion if you told people that you are Armenian (Örmény in Hungarian) most would be extra friendly and curious.

But I also understand why you wouldn’t want to visit while Fidesz is still in power but if we can’t get rid of them in 2026 on the coming up election you might have to wait for a very long time.
