I can’t help but feel that there is a sizable portion of the Republican base that hates Trump and his MAGA supporters. It feels like many of them are sick and tired of Trump. I’m sensing a shift in this election.
They may not vote for Kamala but they wont vote for Trump either. They will probably stay home.

The democrats may be a very diverse base with a lot of different points of view and motivations. The one thing that unites us is the elimination of trump and his influence. We have 3 long months to navigate in this election and it won’t always be easy for Harris. mistakes will be made, fumbles will certainly happen. But we can’t lose site of that goal. Never trump again.
Lol, America voted against Trump in 2016 but he won on technicality, America officially voted him out in 2020. He has only since kicked out any dissenters and reshaped reshaped entire Republican platform into his families underlings.
Conservatives think Kamala getting the nom without a vote is somehow less democratic than being kicked out of the party for wanting a different choice.

It’s because regular people are beginning to realize that voting for Kamala is the best way to tell not just Trump but the entire MAGA base to shut up and go away.
Anybody that thinks MAGA is going to go away should check out Ultra by Rachel Maddow and “Broken Clock” by John Ganz. This has all happened before and it will all happen again, even if Harris wins this year.
It’s becoming a momentous movement to reshape the political landscape. The MAGA movement and GOP political world did something they weren’t expecting to have such a backlash, when took a right away from half the population with the reversal on RvW. We’ve seen the results of that as the headline voting item in ruby red places like Kansas and Alabama. More to the point, the American people as a whole have seen where this nation is going thanks to the supreme court’s blatant corruption and disgraceful rulings. Take that in conjunction with project 2025 and the obvious threat of losing our democracy to becoming a Christofascist nation, the people are realizing the time is now to save America and remake it.
This is the perfect storm for the GOP. The January 6 case just landed back with a legitimate judge in judge Chutkin. I expect her to put Trump and his legal team through the ringer the rest of the summer. That will drain the RNC of their funding and decrease down ballot capabilities. So the time is now to take advantage and blue crush these maggots.
Register, donate, verify your registration in October (the GOP will do whatever they can to purge voter registrations), then vote!

the problem is they don’t have a winning message. Simply being racist is not going to cut it. They will have to hammer her over an issue like the border and inflation, but I think the problem is that the economy is good and most people don’t see the effect of the border security on their daily lives. JD Vance was a horrible strategic blunder, I think he will definitely be replaced after seeing who Harris picks.
MAGA must be removed from all levels of government and the Republican party. Let them compete as a third party.
One can hope, but considering Biden beat Trump 81 million votes to 74 million, 306/232 in EC, and that loss made the Republican Party more devoted to Trump, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. The rot in the GOP is set.
My hope is the Republican Party tears themselves apart.
