Here’s how restrictions on flying over Russia are making flights longer and more expensive

1. I’d rather not risk getting shot down, so I’m fine with going around that shithole thank you very much.

2. It’s a price I’m willing to pay if the reverse (Russian restrictions over EU airspace) helps Ukraine in any way.

4. you would not believe how much longer a flight takes when you are shot down, and the cost of a new plane ticket in Russia is insane, far cheaper and quicker to fly around the active warzone

5. Chinese airlines are still flying above Russia. Their flights between Europe and China are not affected and, yes, they’re significantly cheaper (up to 50%) than with other airlines.

6. When people don’t remember how this was the norm during the Cold War… We just had a short period of shorter routes and now it’s back to the normal.
