Now that we’re so close to breaking our record medal-tally, this is all I think when watching the Olympics

  1. (But honestly we can be proud of all of them, they’re giving the country a massive morale boost)

  2. Wiffen in the 1500 final before 6pm is our next realistic gold shot, Harrington in boxing final so guaranteed silver with a good shout at gold too

  3. Rhasidat Adeleke and some of the other amazing women runners that did so well in the recent European championships.

  4. Do we have a chance in taekwondo? RTE made an ad about him so must be decent.

  5. I think since Kellie is guaranteed either a silver or a gold this is already our best ever Olympics.

    Wiffen in the swimming is probably the next medal. He is favourite for gold.

    The only other realistic possibility today is an outside chance that McIlroy will pick up a medal in the golf. He is only 3 shots outside the medals at the moment despite being 8th.

  6. We have broken it I thought? 3 golds was only matched on 1996 and then there was only 1 bronze, whereas this year there are 2

  7. Every single one of them has been filled with excitement…

    God we needed this as a country

    Haven’t had this sort of boost since the 90’s

  10. McIlroy timing his charge to perfection here. I’d say we could have our next medal before the swimming.
