Apparently, there was a direct flight from Turkey to the Republic of Cyprus two days ago. If true, this would make it a first in many decades.
The first scheduled flight in 59 years from Turkey to the Republic of Cyprus with a 🇹🇷 registered aircraft TC-RSB owned by REDSTAR HAVACILIK.
Looks like @ersinrtatar is the only person on earth that doesn’t recognize the Republic of Cyprus, even President @RTErdogan does 👇👇 pic.twitter.com/lLkRQGw5zY— Harry Theocharous (@TheocharousH1) January 25, 2022

>Government spokesman Marios Pelekanos on Tuesday confirmed that the government gave permission for a direct flight to Istanbul to transport a Covid-positive athlete home.
>According to Turkish Cypriot paper Yeni Duzen, Cypriot authorities gave Turkey permission to charter an ambulance plane to Larnaca airport to take a member of the Turkish national handball team back home.
Medical emergency. Please don’t make it political.
Turkey is still ignoring the existence of the RoC as the legal administration of the whole island, and RoC does not recognise the occupied area as a country, just because there’s a common medical committee about covid related issues.
