ERCOT forecasts record-high energy demand this week, supply will hold

1. Forecast has already been revised down. Current 7 day forecast peak is 85.0 GW.

   But, even if we did experience the peak shown in the article, that’s a very small increase over what we’re used to.

   ERCOT yearly peak changes:

   2022: +6.4 GW
   2023: +5.4 GW
   This week from article: +0.5 GW

   Also, ERCOT’s problems tend to be with winter storms. Despite often having huge load growth, they have never ordered a rolling blackout during the summer.
