Because there are the Harz mountains. With a maximal elevation of slightly above 1000m by far the highest thing in northern Germany and the first barrier the wind from the North Sea hits when it flows inland.
Because Germany needs wind energy
Thats the Brocken (Mountain),the highest peak (1141m) of the Harz mountain range. The climate on the Brocken is like that of an alpine location of 2000 metres. 300 days mist.
I climbed it about a dozen times, his guy a bit more:
Another fun fact:
Lower saxony and nearby regions in the north are “germanys tornado valley”. Actually more “tornados” (called “orkan” in german) than in california.
I don’t know but I’m so sick and tired of it.
Oh man. That wind shit area is real!!
Hands off the steering wheel and car sway away.
Why is
…..why isn’t Braunschweig on this map? A hannovan must have made this,
It’s so the power stays on.
Edit: actually is climate change
What a specific thing to be observing for more than a week.
Hannover. Went there two times.
First time, I had to buy a 299 eur jacket to not die because of cold/wind/rain.
Second time, with the same jacket, still felt the cold.

Gerhard Schröder lives in Hannover and he talks a lot of hot air
Because of the mountains surrounding the area, also it’s been windy near the dutch border too the last couple weeks.
It’s been windy for the past two weeks here in Berlin. It’s unusual to have such a long windy streak. Maybe that also applies there.
