  5. It’s been ages that Republicans have held themselves to any standards, let alone those they like to impose on others.

  7. Biden’s age was concerning to democrats because we recognize he is just a man with a physical body that, like all of us, will decline over time.

    Trump’s age doesn’t seem to matter to his party, the republicans, because in addition to being deluded that he cares about them and is not a grifter, they believe he’s some sort of messiah.

  9. People age differently. Biden got hit harder and it is obviously visible by watching him. Trump is getting worse and worse as time goes on but he rambles faster and more confidently so he appears better. It varies by person. Bernie Sanders is very active and older than both but doesn’t trail off and lose his train of thought like Biden and Trump.

    If the conversation leads to age limits on the Presidency I am all for it since we already have a lower limit. A limit on the higher end makes even more sense imo.

    Therefore Bidens age is relevant but Trumps is not. It’s about purity of essence.

  18. Because people don’t view him as diminished. It doesn’t matter if the evidence says he is, people just don’t see it. He’s always acted out there, dare I say “weird”, so they just see Donald Trump being Trump.

    Biden’s age was an issue because of how he acts. He wasn’t just in his eighties, but he *seemed* in his eighties. No one question’s Nancy Pelosi’s age either, and she’s older. Same with Bernie. Obviously they aren’t president, but still.

    It’s really not equivalent in the eyes of the public, no matter how much we might want it to be.

He won’t stop talking to think because if he keeps talking his cult will take it as him just saying what he thinks rather than being “Politically Correct”. In reality windmills causing cancer is either him just blurting something out to keep talking and/or just him saying he hates windmills and he couldn’t come up with a decent reason as quickly as he speaks.

    For someone who constantly attacked Biden for using a teleprompter he made a big deal in Nevada when it was working for him. He has plenty of issues, some might be age related some might not be. The difference is I would expect Biden to defer to those who know better and can think better. I expect that he can make a good decision on who to hire and trust those people to run the country. Trump fires people like their seasonal wear and the only hope we have of his people thinking for themselves rather than doing whatever Trump wants even if it’s a bad idea is if they have a conscience. We got lucky quite a few times during his first presidency, will we get lucky again? I’d rather not find out.

  46. A sad part of the true answer is that many people find confidence intoxicating. Biden looking frail and whispering truth into the microphone is scary. Trump ranting passionately about electrified sharks and Hannibal Lector is fine.

    It’s the entire reason we have the term ‘confidence man.’ For a sad number of people, *all* they hear is confidence and delivery, not truth. They’re like dogs watching someone speak – the words mean nothing, they only perceive tone and expression.
