I got some of this super cool fact-based and peer reviewed science over here if you want to check it out!
At least they got actually scientists and not some bullshit influencer
“Spread” is the word that pops out.
I heard they use schools to spread science, numeracy and literacy too.
Why are people shocked at this. Govt had to get message out, knew young ones use social media, hire people to get the message out across said social media. Seems pretty sensible to me
That presenter from Xpose who completely lost the plot with conspiracies was telling her followers on Twitter / Instagram to go after any person they saw wearing those badges saying they got a vaccine or after anyone who encouraged others to get one.
That in particular helped increase random Irish nurses and doctors being targeted online by some real nasty scumbags.
I think this is fine. Paying young scientists for their work should be encouraged. Paying everyone should be encouraged. This idea of exposure and unpaid internships needs to die.
Normalising pay for young people’s work experience, particularly in novel areas as work practices change should be done. Social media is the new PR machine.
So they hired scientists to make memes?
If you think about it, FB and twitter already manage misinformation of their own accord. Provided you’re already bought into following our country’s method of covid management, it makes sense for our government to be the ones supplying messaging. It keeps things consistent (as far they can manage 😅). I don’t have a problem with this.
Sounds reasonable
I am one of those scientists (Andrew McGovern / @ScientistIreland on TikTok) by the way – if anyone has any Qs about the project/process let me know.
Sure didn’t they hire influencers too at times.
This method can also be used to push other political points they want, like downplaying rents, housing crisis, etc. There should be a disclaimer at the very least for this sharp practice going forward in the future, as it will be used again by the state.
What was r /irelands involvement in the campaign, mods?
I’m just glad they didn’t use scienticians
“scientists”, more like bots run by IT types. They’re trying to spin their own corrupt bullshit unit as some sort of saviors of truth.
Their entire communication strategy has been bullshit lies.
