  1. Did a British person claim that someone other than the Spice Girls were the worst of the 90s?

  2. Oh whatever, no band with Mark Tremonti on guitar is going to be the worst band of the 90s. Also I saw Creed live a few times in the early 00’s and they fucking brought the house down. Yeah sure Scott Stapp sucks, the rest of Creed is an amazing band.

  3. I don’t like creed at all but they are definitely not the worst band from the 90s by a long shot

  4. I like a couple of songs off their My Own Prison album. So… not the worst?

  5. Can’t believe a band that sold 53 million albums would be popular? This is quite fathomable actually.

  6. Although…. I did enjoy Creed on the US version of The Office

  7. I’m not even going to read this article to know how extremely lame the author must be. Creed rules and their comeback is fantastic.

  8. There were so many terrible bands in the 90s, hard to pick the worst one.

  9. Every guitar player in the world is about to come out swinging to defend Tremonti. You can slander Creed all you want, but the Tremonti heads will not take an insult to the GOAT.

  10. I guess I don’t understand it all. “No one likes them” “They suck” “Worst band ever” yet they sold a bajillion records, and have been a fixture on pop rock radio for over 20 years. Where’s the hate come from? There’s certain bands that don’t resonate with me, like Soundgarden, I just don’t listen to them. They don’t suck, they just aren’t my thing. Why does Creed create such hatred?

But Nickelback? They fuckin suck!!!! (J/K)

  11. I think by “worst” they mean “most annoying”. Which is fair given how much airplay bands like creed and nickelback got back in the late 90s/early 00s. But

  12. I’ve not heard a single note of their music- big in the US, entirely unnoticed over the pond

  13. Whatever band Corey Feldman was playing with in the 90s was definitely the worst.

  14. I love all these “worst” posts. Worst song ever, worst band ever, etc. No such thing. There are songs and bands you don’t like. There are songs and bands I don’t like. But the sales numbers say that Creed, Nickelback, and Imagine Dragons are far from the worst of anything. A lot of people like(d) them. If you don’t like them, that’s fine! I don’t care.

  15. This is the only way you get ever get me to listen to Creed. Because of the implication.

  16. Okay, I get that it is fun to hate Creed. But they are not the worst band of the 90’s. The hate for Creed is so much, it’s more annoying than Creed.

That said, this article (and everyone else) is still talking about Creed to this day because they fucking killed it back in the 90’s. They had some songs that absolutely slapped if you were into the mainstream rock back then. The melodies were infectious. But they fell victim to becoming too mainstream (and the whole religious thing) and eventually they became the butt end of a joke. They went the way of Nickelback and Smashmouth. Completely transcendent during their peak but eventually everyone had their fill and turned on them.

Shit, ima toss in some Creed now – fuck you haters. I’m going Higher.

  17. You know, i like some Creed songs. Im not one of those people who regrets things from my life just because enough people call it cringe for internet points.

They were not the worst band of the 90s by far. I cannot begin to tell you how many alt rock acts had the blandest formula, and released 11, 3 min samey songs at a time.

Creed was as versatile (not as good as) as Smashing Pumpkins, they could play loud and angry, they could play slow and soft

With all respect to Pearl Jam fans, Eddie’s voice was just as meme-able as Scott’s.

I am just so sick of these clickbait headlines.

  18. Always interesting to see music I used to enjoy being denounced as “the worst”. What makes Creed so bad?

  19. Not the worst band, but Scott Stapp does suck. The most embarrassing band of the 90s is more apt.

  20. It doesn’t take much talent to get a few instruments, write bad 8th grade poetry, and hit the record button. If it’s slightly in tune the wrasslin crowd will eat it up. Sort of like how they choose their political candidates. If you listen to Creed or Altered Bridge or any terrible bro band from the late 90s, for the sake of humanity please stare introspectively into the nearest mirror and seriously question your life choices.

  21. Creed should’ve been treated like Nickleback was treated and Nickleback should’ve been left alone

  22. Creed sold 53 million albums, had many absolute banger anthems, and all of them still hold up to this day! Cringe article fr.

  23. Creed was bad. Creed is bad. There are a lot of Christians in the US who like Christian bands. I wouldn’t say it’s a comeback they made a lot of money.

  24. Weren’t the Spin Doctors the worst band of the 90’s?

  25. Pretty sure they just sold pretty nice ticket numbers here in Pittsburgh.

  26. #1 activity on creed cruise: trying to get off creed cruise

  27. I went on the second round of this cruise with Daughtry. It was awesome minus the fact that at this point in my life I am over being on ships. #gonavy

My boy watched Creed’s entire set from a hot tub on the top deck with a drink in his hand and a crazy Russian on his arm.

Towards the end of Creed’s set, as we were leaving port in Orlando, SpaceX launched a rocket that could be seen by all across the night sky. It was pretty sweet.
