One had an outstanding extradition warrant, another wanted for a traffic offence, another for drug offences and the last one “wanted in connection with alleged threats to kill”
That’s pretty cool. I know people have reservations about this, but when the technology is used to find known suspects I don’t see this being much different to deploying hundreds of officers in the streets who somehow have to remember what the fugitives look like and try spotting them in the crowd.
Grim , authoritarian technology from the worlds most corrupt police force
The Met’s judgement hasn’t been too hot recently, has it.
Check out chinas use of facial recognition and tell me it’s a cool idea
On the one hand, I don’t like the idea of all the extra surveillance, on the other hand, I’m sat typing this on a smart phone logged into my Google account and with s dozen smart devices in my house with half of them listening to everything I do… at least they’re catching some crims I suppose.
Is this much different from the technology we already have? If its being used for good and we have some kind of oversight/regulatory process then I think its great.
NWA had it right, sliding towards a dystopian nightmare. Old Georgey boy was right
