EU countries should step up arms supplies to Ukraine, even though it has been given F-16. Also, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz should lift his veto on the supply of Taurus missiles to Kyiv. This was stated by the chairman of the Bundestag Defense Committee Marie-Agnes Strak-Zimmermann.

  1. Our weapons will help, but what we really need to do is join the fight.
This war is going to escalate sooner or later, so better to start that escalation on our own terms.
Take out key Russian occupied territories first, in one big attack, to send a message.
    And then deliver an ultimatum.
Leave Ukraine by yourself, or be removed.

  2. She is a politician who does not understand that she isn’t in opposition but part of the government coalition. Scholz made repeatedly very clear that it is not lawfully possible to deliver Taurus missiles. One may not like this decision but that is how it is. Apart from that a few Taurus missiles won’t make the difference, what counts is the larger picture. Also Strack-Zimmermann is now in the European Parliament.

The larger picture is that Ukraine needs the means to defend itself. There are still lots of possibilities. Ideally support for Ukraine is not discussed in the open arena but just happening behind the scenes, communicated after the fact.

    No brain proposal:
    – Bulgaria has around 100 T-72 tanks, the US could supply them with Abrams, they have more than 2000 in inactive stock.
    – more supply of night vision
    – European states could all manufacture an equivalent to Shaheed drones and provide them in corresponding numbers.
    – Germany could legally draw all Ukrainians in their country to compulsory military service to ease the desertion risks
    – Norway could get Ukraine their phased out german submarines.
