Shaun Tuck, 37, from Liverpool, posted racist abuse about a fellow **Everton** supporter in the comments section of the club’s official Facebook page in August 2023.
Following an investigation, Tuck was arrested and **charged** with malicious communications.
As well as a 15 week prison sentence, Tuck has also been told he must pay a £155 victim surcharge and handed a six-year Football Banning Order.

The stickers contained “ethnic slurs” about minority communities which displayed a “deep-seated antipathy to those groups”, the court heard.
Hamoud Al Soaimi, 21, for three counts of sexual assault and one assault by penetration, jailed for two years suspended for two years with 180 hours unpaid work. He was 15 at the time of the assault.
EDIT: CLARIFICATION. “jailed for two years suspended for two years” is ripped straight from the article. It means that he got his two year jail sentence suspended until/if he was to commit another crime, it then gets added on to his new prison sentence. If I understand it correctly, he did not spend a single day in prison.
It’s true and I’d even say it’s well known, some of the sentences for violent crimes are a joke compared to social media acts , fraud, going against big business and other less non violent crimes.
Judicial system is the biggest culprit and issue of racial issues / division IMO – if it actually locked up people properly and then we also deported people with clearly no value to the country there wouldn’t be this outcry.

I disagree with imprisonment for offensive speech. 100%. So the left side of the frame I agree with. But the last example is dishonest. He was 15 and got sentenced as a child. The other 3 men convicted of rape got like 18 years. I think he was a scummy little child but to frame that as if Asian = no jail time is blatantly dishonest when the other perpetrators in the exact same case who weren’t children got significant jail time
The law needs to be tougher on kids, criminals
use them this is true, but if you commit heinous crimes you should go down for an automatic 15 year term without parole, the after the 15 years you’re released but if you reoffend then your previous sentence should be added to this one. All this mental health stuff they try to get people off with should only determine the destination not the duration. Prison time should be labour intensive too like making objects for councils like kerbs, lampposts, railings, gates and anything else they need fabricating so when they come out they have some skills. We just don’t connect the dots in the UK 🙁
