  1. Is this a joke? They have been advancing all summer on different fronts and made more gains than they did last year. They already have done a summer offensive.

  2. Yeah because they’ve been on an offensive for like the past year wtf is this

  3. It’s just a play on words. A plane in flight can not take off.

  4. Pretty bleak future if Ukraine does not consider the current situation on the frontlines a Russian offensive considering the gains they are currently making. Makes you wonder what they can achieve in 2025 if they can undertake an actual large scale offensive. Strange article.

  5. What happens on the Toretsk and Pokrowsk vector is unusual and bad for Ukraine right now, unmitigated Russian pushes since weeks due to a lack in personell, a switch in Russian tactics as well as the lack of well established defense lines. Russia is using glide bombs to large effects. This is dangerous.

There is no benefit in talking that rosy or by pretending that there is not already an offensive…

Russia has problems, too, though. And I hope they will become more apparent in the midterm.

  6. Newsweek are a bunch of idiots. Honestly never going to click on a post that has their articles again

  7. Take-home message: Russia will not launch a major summer offensive in Ukraine this year due to material and manpower constraints, according to Ukrainian and Western analysts. Despite localized efforts in the Donetsk region, Moscow’s forces lack the capacity for a broad, coordinated offensive like the one in February 2022.

  8. The Kharkiv offensive was a real show of weakness. They literally had momentum and it just fell over after a week.

  9. Not enough air superiority and not enough meatbags to send to the grinder, I guess
