Putin resorting to ‘Soviet era’ weaponry to cope against Ukraine | Maj Gen Chip Chapman

“The liberalised economy which came after the Soviet Union has now been reversed into a sort of Soviet era ‘Putinomics’”

Vladimir Putin’s ‘unsustainable burn rate’ of resources and soldiers are forcing Russia to use ammunition and weaponry from the Soviet period, says Maj Gen Chip Chapman.

  1. Misleading and wrong on so many fronts. America is in the position that the British Empire was in after the First World war. Its position as the global superpower is coming to an end. Question: Have Ukraine taken back the areas the Russians occupy? If not, why? Simple answer, they don't have the troops to do it. Not Pro-Putin, not anti-Ukraine, hate Trump but this is the reality. Putin has more troops, more ammunition and more economic resources
NATO, or the countries that are in it (and Europe) are in a fix. Keep supplying the Zelensky regime, with ammunition and missiles (or men) and our own' burn rate' leaves our own forces short. Add in an escalating probability of additionally supporting Israel in a war in the Middle East. Putin meanwhile is manufacturing weapons and has troops a plenty. Intelligence means understanding your opponent and weighing up facts. Not deluding your audience or yourselves. An illuminating interview from a couple of months back with John Mearsheimer

  2. US intelligence?. Former CIA operator John Stockwell, told me all I know about how PROPAGANDA works! Lol

  3. I wanna be a general. U just go around getting paid to lie…….ljke this guys a complete clown😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  4. Incredible, the speaker harps on about the difficulties the Russians might be having in recruiting into the army while completely ignoring a far worse situation in Ukraine.

  5. If Russia say they will takeover Ukraine by 2034 – it actually means they are desparate to end the war. They are running out of equipment, recruitment is getting more diffiult and increasingly expensive, and the Russian economy is in collapse. I find it somewhat worrying when a Senior General, albeit retired, takes what a Kremlin mouthpiece states at face value.

  6. Russia's economy can't hold out. Gazprom this week announced a loss of $4.8 billion dollars so far in 2024. Russia is spending 40% of all gov't spending on the war. That is insane, and means nothing else is getting money except pensions and the war.

  7. Too bad Russia is among the marginalised. No Olympics, no world championships, no music festivals, viewed as a pariah everywhere, all because of a fraudulent leader in power who is pushing the country into the abyss.
Through his fault, 700,000 Russians have already died. God will punish this criminal.

  9. Seems pretty clear to me that no matter what happens in Ukraine, no matter how much territory Russia manages to keep, Putin has already lost, and lost in a very big way. He both unified and expanded NATO right up to his border, he has isolated his economy, and perhaps worst of all, Putin had to go hat in hand to bend the knee to North Korea and Iran, two countries that were bending the knee to him not too long ago. If Putin's objective was launch Russia into the top echelon of global powers so that he could gain global influence for himself, he has failed utterly. He's done the opposite. He's lost influence. I remember he had complained that the West wants Russia to be a resource colony, and it was clear he had other plans. But now, Russia is less than a resource colony. At least a resource colony has value to the Empire. Russia is not even needed for its resources anymore. This war has been a complete disaster for Russia, for Putin, and for the poeple that support him. It's so bad that Russia will eventually fragment and fall aprt. It's inevitable now. I wish them all luck.

  10. UNLIKE THE FAIRYLAND US GOVERNMENT — RUSSIA IS A "WORLD GAS STATION" , Her Sanctions are but a Hiccup, and She's got the resources to make weapons for another 100 years…. w/o NATO the Ukraine is in Trouble.

  11. Yeah, and those weapons have proved devastating against the already depleted Ukrainian nazis. I have been hearing about how the Russians have run out of everything and were being slaughtered by the thousands for the last two years. I think the Russians are playing the long game because they know Trump will end the war in one day.

  12. Ha ha, trying to cope with defeat, nato is done, Russia has 9,000 tanks and is not even really using them at the moment, learn the lessons of history, Russia will win this war.

  13. мы не воюем с Украиной, мы воюем с киевскими властями, которые продали свои земли и свой народ в пользу стран НАТО. а это совсем другая история

  14. They seem to be holding their own with minor gains, so don't doubt that somewhere they have new surprises. Why not drop down to T-34s or anything that can roll? It atrites ammunition and crews, which obviously no one seems to care about for little gain except the Ukrainians must expend resources to counter? Trump is a wild card that Putin will have to deal with. Who's the demonstrated idiot in this pair. My guess is that it's not Trump. Predictors of his actions are all trolls. Win is his middle name. An Afghan loss debacle repeat will not happen on his watch. Putin is in his own mind a winner regardless of the cost. He still rules, which is all he seems to care about.
