There is someone who lives close to me who gets two free cars brand new every year via GAA. Two Large SUV’s. Brand new. Top spec. Every year. They aren’t even used for anything even remotely GAA related. His sons drive them.
Both himself and his wife already have their own cars.
Last year they were Mitsubishi’s, this year they’re the big Peugeot 5008 jobs.
High cost hybrid jobs both years.
Most definitely in some way linked to sponsorship and “perks for the lads.”
Again, fair play to the Ballygiblin lads for what they are doing, It’s really great to see.
Imagine what could actually be done if things like brand new cars weren’t being handed out all over the place though. It’s a shame that good actions like this may be overshadowed by massive fundamental issues.
This is down to the individuals on the team their supporters and club, not the GAA per se.
