  1. Damn this guy has issues. How did this even get published, I thought this would be a stupid twitter post

  2. He would fit in perfectly with the jihadists radicalizing people in Western Europe.

  3. Him? He made a carreer insulting people. It’s one of those people where you wonder how come they are (relatively) famous and not sued and spit out by society.

  4. He is known for being very provocative. Didn’t expect him to be pro palestine/hamas though. Islam is way too strict and narrow minded for him.

  5. Incitation to racial or ethnic hatred is illegal in Belgium under the Loi Moureaux, passed in the 80’s in part in response to a Palestinian bombing of an Antwerp synagogue.

  6. No wonder Jews were persecuted in Europe throughout history. All because of Christians like him

  7. In an ideal world this guy would now be under investigation for willingness to commit a hate crime. Definitely keep tabs on this individual. A lot of times as you’ve seen with some criminals that do commit a crime often say they will before they do it or brag about it after. Whether it be written work or music.

  8. I will never understand the jewish hate. Even as a scapegoat I don’t get it.

  9. I’m confused, this is supposed to be a satire magazine according to the article? Are the articles in it supposed to be taken seriously?

  10. Antisemitism is a European tradition. They mastered the art of mass genocide over hundreds of years. It’s where the Muslims learned to hate them. Just another day.

  11. As usual, the Nexus of global antisemitism remains in Europe

  12. Hate is a form of suffering, but maybe this guy deserves it.

  13. It’s so funny that even as a Dutchie, I figured I would see the name being Herman Brusselmans. You can hardly forget the guy, long overgrown disgusting hair. Always come over on our TV shows (Flanders and The Netherlands ‘share’ TV-personalities) to try and say stuff that triggers and angers people. Like a walking, living and breathing Tweet in human flesh.

He is like 60 with a girlfriend somewhere in the 20’s right? Don’t know how he got that off, he definitely looks like the type of guy that refuses to take showers.

  14. Okay, let’s share the actual passage of the column:

    >”Ik zie een beeld van een huilend en schreeuwend Palestijns jongetje dat helemaal buiten zinnen om z’n onder het puin liggende moeder roept, en ik beeld me in dat dat jongetje m’n eigen zoontje Roman is, en de moeder m’n eigen vriendin Lena, en ik word zo woedend dat ik iedere Jood die ik tegenkom een puntig mes los door de keel wil rammen.”
    >
    >
    >
    >”I see an image of a crying and screaming Palestinian boy crying completely out of control for his mother lying under the rubble, and I imagine that the boy is my own son Roman, and the mother is my own friend Lena, and I become so enraged that I want to ram a pointed knife down the throat of every Jew I meet.”

Sounds terrible, absolutely… because they omitted the next sentence:

    >” Je moet er natuurlijk altijd bij denken: niet iedere Jood is een moorddadige rotzak”
    >
    >
    >
    >” Of course, you always have to think: not every Jew is a murderous bastard”

The entire piece is written as a condemnation of (to paraphrase) “Netanyahu’s quest to seemingly want to eradicate every Hamas and Hezbollah fighter, no matter how many innocent civilians he has to kill for every single one fighter, thus creating yet another generation that will carry hate in their hearts towards the state of Israel for the next 50 years.”

Brusselmans is, to put it mildly, an artistic asshole. He has this entire persona of being an unlikable bastard that always tries to wind people up by saying his mind in the most obnoxious ways. In this case he’s written a column about how the things that he sees around him when going for a walk, or watching the news, makes him have moodswings. He sees an old man shuffling down the street, and he’s moved to tears, he sees a poor Palestinian boy crying his eyes out next to a building in rubble, and he’s put into such a rage when he imagines the child as his own, and the dead mother as his wife. But he quickly also reminds himself that many of the Jews around him are just like the old, shuffling man. There’s only one guy trying to unleash WW3 in the ME, and that’s Bibi.

(N.B.: in my opinion there’s plenty to blame on the “other side” as well in the ME, Iran, plenty of “state-sponsored terrorist organizations” and others are pushing for open conflict. But the only ones that constantly get a free pass to kill innocent people seem to be IDF.)

So is there a case here? Meh, it’s an opinion piece, Brusselmans is NOT advocating for violence against Jews in Belgium, but he IS condemning the war against the Palestinians and the wanton death and destruction they’re suffering.

  15. People and news papers modus operandi these days is quoting people out of context to point fingers at ”evil” people and their seemingly horrible views.

Let me clarify mr Brusselman is a controversial figure and I do not agree with his opinions but even a person like him deservers to be quoted correctly.

Here is the news arcticle he wrote for HUMO (https://www.humo.be/meningen/herman-brusselmans-het-midden-oosten-zal-exploderen-er-is-een-derde-wereld-oorlog-op-komst~b38b455f/?referrer=https://en.wikipedia.org/) – it’s in dutch.

Here is the quote directly from the article:

For every Hamas or Hezbollah fighter who is killed by that Israeli shitty army, hundreds of innocent civilians are killed, and we can do nothing but keep repeating that many of them are children, and that we here, in the so-called safe West, cannot imagine that the same fate would befall our children. I see an image of a crying and screaming Palestinian boy, completely out of his mind, calling for his mother who is lying under the rubble, and I imagine that boy is my own son **Roman** , and the mother is my own girlfriend **Lena** , and I get so angry that I want to ram a sharp knife through the throat of every Jew I meet. Of course, you always have to remember: not every Jew is a murderous bastard, and to give shape to that thought I imagine an elderly Jewish man shuffling down my own street, dressed in a washed-out shirt, fake cotton trousers and old sandals, and I feel sorry for him and almost get tears in my eyes, but a moment later I wish him to hell, and yes, that is a mood swing, and my upcoming bundle will unfortunately be full of it

My personal take is that his views are compromised and skewed towards Jews but misquoting somebody for the sole reason to point at the person and just scream ”evil¨ shouldn’t be a acceptable form of reporting by anyone.

  16. Yes, this sucks. But why is it worldnews material? Isn’t there an r/belgium or something?

  17. I’m not Jewish but if anyone wants to fly me out from Los Angeles, I’ll whoop his ass for free
