    Add in his Reserves experience and he’s basically the perfect candidate

  11. Every few hours it seems another fact comes out, and it’s beginning to look like all this couldn’t possibly be true, but I know it is. His family dog (named Scout for gods sakes) is a pit mix rescue, AND he has a cat. An LGBT daughter named Hope. One time he taught his high school class to use data to predict the next genocide and they correctly picked Rawanda. How is this all possible? He was always my pick, but I had absolutely no idea he was the hero we all needed.

    When Walz debates Vance he needs to shake his hand and say “Remember, once a Marine always a Marine. Stay professional.”

    As a Marine Sergeant I’ll let you know that Vance is (or should be) quite intimidated. Doesn’t matter the branch.

  14. Actually, there are millions of Democrats out here that are just like Tim.

    Hard-working, pro labor;
    Likes guns, but understands need for certain gun control;
    Celebrates success, but wary of the super rich;
    Wants to be free, but understands the need for taxation;
    Wants to enjoy and use the environment, But also protect for the future.

    These aren’t pipe dreams; these are things that can be achieved with good governance.

  17. I don’t know if it’s just the immediate rush of it all, but I think I like Walz a little more than Harris. Watched a few vids of his and above all, he’s a great natural speaker. Just a guy talking. With Harris it feels like she’s always in speech mode

    Meanwhile- JD Vance digs in further on his stance that women are purposed for child making, and anyone electing not to participate in that should have watered-down voting privileges.

  22. All I keep seeing in my Facebook feed is republican voters complaining about MPLS riots and how he let it “burn to the ground” and didn’t call in help.

    And then sharing “the fall of Minneapolis” video.

    And it’s always from the same people I could’ve guessed would be saying this. Same ones that said everyone needed to watch Sound of Freedom when that was popular for them to share for a week or two.

  24. We’ve allowed the right to paint us as blue-haired, trans, flag-burning, campus zealots who hate America. We do have blue haired, trans campus zealots and they don’t hate America! And they don’t burn flags, and if they do that is their right, but that’s not us.

    As Tim said, one man’s socialism is another man’s neighborliness. We have to stop apologizing for progressive values and start campaigning on them. They are popular! If we look like we’re running away from them, how are independents going to give us a chance? Campaign on them! Tim Walz understands this. Does he look like a crazy communist? No! He’s a normal midwestern dude. You don’t get more middle class American than Tim Walz.

  27. Looking over the potential VP picks this past week, I’ve been very impressed with the talent pool Dems are working with and wondering where the fuck this was for the past 8 years of fielding barely-viable tickets.

  28. I haven’t felt the energy I felt watching his Philadelphia speech since the Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign. Not quite as progressive but some very similar messages to Bernie at his best (e.g. talking about a rigged economy).

    But unlike Bernie, he’s on the ticket, the entire democratic party from AOC to Manchin is behind him, and he has an extra level of goofy charm and humour.

    I literally can’t sleep I’m so excited

    This is the mid-west … there are millions of folks just like him.

    He is a great pick to wake so many up out of their Fox News coma that has darkened their minds.
