  1. …I mean, if you are going to do it to them? They are going to eventually hit you in the rubles.

  2. Excellent. If It’s true i’m glad they’re making ground .

  3. Good.

It’s time average Russians feel what it’s like.

    Keep the pressure up.

This American supports Ukraine all the way.

    Slava Ukrani

  4. The Russian Federation is in love with their historical borders, so I support the return of their glorious 1300s borders, the Principality of Muscovy!

  5. C’mon, Putin. You break into another country uninvited and you don’t think the offended neighbor will not reciprocate?

  6. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2024/08/07/ukrainian-forces-launched-cross-border-incursion-into-russia-moscow-claims) reduced by 71%. (I’m a bot)

  7. I don’t trust anything Russia says, but I hope this one is true.

  8. Given the Kremlin officially consider Donbas a Russian oblast, hasn’t Ukraine technically fought on Russian territory for years? Or is this just a freudian slip from the Russian side, that they dont really consider Donbas and Kharkiv parts of Russia after all?

  9. Russian forces launched cross-border attack into Ukraine, world saw

  10. Ukraine should organize referendum. Let people decide if they want to join Ukraine or declare their own republic

  11. Hey, *you* guys wanted a war, don’t go crying to the rest of the World when it doesn’t go your way…

  12. I fear this is Putin’s prelude to using nuclear weapons.

  13. What a waste. Already saw videos popping up of destroyed Ukrainian equipment. These were better used in Niy York and Prokrovsk.

  14. It’s not an attack it’s a “special military operation” designed to combat fascists there.

  15. It was just a special operation, what you getting your panties in a bunch about, Vlad?

  16. To be honest, this operation seems a bit strange. It is no secret that the Front in Donetsk is under heavy attack and the defenders are fighting a battle of retreat. They are in need of troops and equipment there to stabilize the front until Russia runs out of steam again.

In the border kursk region, there are no tactical gains to be made. There are no really important railways, no factories, no big munition plants that we know of, if i am not mistaken.

So there is the possibility that this is supposed to be a political attack – to show the russian people that this war will affect them and Putin cant control the border.
Well, no, not really. I recommend a video of vlad vexler explaining how Russians think about borders, empire and greatness. In their political myths, Russia is endless and ever expanding, the vastness of the country has a political dimension to them. That also means that they have no clear idea of “borders”. To them thats a meaningless category. They dont care much if there is this one city is now temporarily ukrainian or russian. They thought about ukrainian cities as “russian” since forever. It should be russian at some point, thats all that matters and is almost seen as a law of nature. I dont want to get too far into it, but the hyperbolic claim to make this clear is, that Putin back in 2022 could have said “in a very clever tactical move of mine, we will now GIVE this or that territory to ukraine” and russians would have said “yeah who cares, never been to that place anyways and it will be russia at some point again”. There are exceptions to that perspective, one of which is crimea, the others are Regions like Moscow or St. Petersburg and thats totally of the table. (I am talking about average russians, not some hypernationalists but if the theory is “the action is aiming at ordinary russians” then thats the group we are interested in and they just care very little about wether the explosions are 20 kilometers on that or the other side of the border).

I personally am very sceptical if the temporary occupation of some villages in kursk justifies the missing of these forces in the south…

  17. What they really mean is: it’s only okay if Russia does this.
