My friend got a stain from the bicycle chain, cycling around Helsinki. Any idea how to get rid of it? Some laundry safe degreaser brand recommendation?

3. hot water soap and a lot of time 😄

4. Dish washing soap, e.g., Fairy. Wash it away and then throw it to washing machine with normal washing detergent.

   Works really well at least with jeans.

5. I have never understood where the heck did those bicycle chain guards disappear within last 20 years. When I was young we could ride a bike with normal jeans, now you need spandex or your trousers get sucked into the chains. Reverse development if you ask me.

6. To prevent it in future, using rubber bands to keep the pants tight near the chain is helpful.

   the bottom ones are the type that i have. the top one looks interesting and maybe is a better choice, but i don’t have experience with them.

   i use these things *every time i bike* , unless i’m wearing the tight skinny pants that contour tightly to me (in which case its impossible for the pants to hit the chain).
