Son of Norway’s Crown Princess suspected of assaulting woman in Oslo apartment

   The Crown Princess of Norway’s eldest son has been arrested for an alleged assault forcing his mother to cancel an appearance at the Paris Olympics.

   Marius Borg Høiby, 27, is suspected of attacking a woman in her Twenties “psychologically and physically” in an Oslo apartment on Sunday. She was discharged from hospital the next day.

   Trond Norén Isaksen, a historian, said it was the first time a member of the Norwegian royal family has been charged with a crime.

   The stepson of heir to the throne Crown Prince Haakon was released on Monday after being arrested at a different address and spending 30 hours in custody. A blood test for drugs was taken.

   Mr Høiby is now with his mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who was a single mother when she met her husband, at the Skaugum royal estate in Asker, south west of Oslo.

10. He’s not part of the royal family, his mother is. He sure enjoys the perks of being connected to them.

    And it surprises me this story actually made it to the press, usually the nasty stuff is kept under the rug.
