  1. >A video shared on social media shows protesters holding Palestinian flags and accusing theatregoers at a cafe next to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre of “Zionism”.

What a stupid thing to do.

  2. Of course they’re antisemitic. And everyone who thinks it’s ok is complicit.

edit: ok, reading through, the last line is…

    >The videos that emerged on social media were exchanges that did not take place at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Last night’s performance went ahead as planned

Sounds like the protest was at the nearest public area to the show, the park cafe – from : [https://www.thejc.com/news/uk/argument-erupts-between-pro-palestinian-group-and-jewish-theatregoers-outside-fiddler-on-the-roof-g21kj0be](https://www.thejc.com/news/uk/argument-erupts-between-pro-palestinian-group-and-jewish-theatregoers-outside-fiddler-on-the-roof-g21kj0be)

  3. Protesting outside a play just because the characters and themes in it are Jewish? That’s an antisemitism.

  4. Quoting the article:

spokesperson for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre said: “The videos that emerged on social media were exchanges that did not take place at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Last night’s performance went ahead as planned.”

  5. Well that’s a given right? Been like that the whole time…

  6. Serious question, why are they arguing with people who are British and holding them responsible for the actions of the Government of another country?

I’m deliberately removing the religion out of this. It would be like me holding my Palestinian neighbours responsible for Hamas actions which is clearly nuts.

  7. >The cafe, **which is 200m from Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre**, was full of people about to see the final preview performance of the famed Jewish show. The theatre itself has stringent security, but the cafe is open to all members of the public.

    > Theatregoer Martine was having dinner with her family before the show when she saw a group of between six and twenty protesters in the cafe with Palestinian flags and keffiyehs.

    > Tony Price, 73, also in the cafe said when he saw the flag-wielding crowd, **“I went up to one of the men who was carrying a flag and I said, ‘Your presence is not welcome here.’”**

‘Pro-Israel people get offended by Palestinian flag in a cafe 200m from Theatre” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it does it? Hilarious.

  8. >A spokesperson for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre said: “The videos that emerged on social media were exchanges that did not take place at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Last night’s performance went ahead as planned.”

Why is this at the end of the article when it puts a massive hole into the narrative that they were protesting the play and directly contradicts the headline?
