Lothar Matthäus on Uli Hoeneß weakening Bayern’s bargaining position via his public statements: “Harry Kane became more expensive (€95m) due to his comments on Tottenham. Now he’s making Bayern players cheaper with comments about sales. The buyers can afford to wait, they knows Bayern must sell”

I don‘t get this. How does he know that Kane got more expensive? And it‘s pretty obvious that we need to sell to buy anyways.
We all wish he’d shut up sometimes but I think Lothar is exaggerating his impact on transfer fees
Uli need to shut up for sure, he is doing too many interviews and always say some random shit.
But in this case, everyone already knows that we must sell bunch of players. There’s too much media involvement nowadays from everyone and nothing really stays a secret. Romano also said in an interview that players themselves reach out to him and leak private discussions.
The year is 2077. A 120-year-old Uli Hoeneß gives an interview from his hospital bed, saying that 110 billion is too much for rising superstar Bastian Neuer, as Bayern do not wish to break their 100 billion transfer limit on a single player. From his nursing home, 110-year-old Lothar Matthäus releases a press statement saying how appalled he is that Uli would make such comments.
tbf Im pretty sure that the buying clubs actually know that bayern wants to offload salaries, without Uli Hoeneß saying a single sentence. The main problem is rather the unnescessary media drama it creates.
While I don’t fully agree with his wording, I think he has a point.
The strategy of focusing on one specific player and going public with every detail have definitely weakened our position during negotiations in several instances.
No news here. Hijacking and sabotaging since years wherever he can.
I never thought I would live to see the day when Loddar is right and Uli is cringe… Yes I am getting old, but still.
Lothar has a lot opinions but he hit the nail on the head with this one. Uli needs to shut up and allow Bayern to conduct business with more secrecy.
Lothar Matthäus is an idiot and I wouldnt value what he says that much. He is very shady with adds for gambling and instant credit platforms – and he injured Helmut Grabowski in a game which led to the end of Grabowskis career. He didnt even apologize or talk to him in any form…
Lother is a moron but hes correct and ive been saying it for years. Uli never shouldve come back.
When he was in jail and KHR and Karl Hopfner were running the ship with Sammer and Pep, thats the last time, imo, that FC Bayern acted like a professional club from top to bottom. But Uli returned and he brought the clown show with him
