Down hurlers called ‘Prods and Brits’ during Carlow league clash, manager claims

  1. Probably were. The thing is how will here respond? Will the “A sporty lad took the poss out of me when I was at school” brigade win out with the claim that all GAA heads are bigoted animals or will the “I hate the Brits more than I love myself” gang win out because calling people prods and Brits as an insult is okay (but they’ll also claim that this never happened )

  2. The irony being those guys are more Irish than anyone, not something I’d give a fuck about but if you’re going to abuse them how wrong can you get it. Playing Hurling in down like, pure gaels. If it was English people abusing them there would he uproar about them not learning Irish history in school, what bout these clowns in Carlow who clearly haven’t a clue

  3. Pathetic, it’s bad enough they have to listen to that sh*te from the other community up north, but to get it from your own countymen is ridiculous.

  4. Typical free staters. Unfortunately ranges from just craic to stuff like this. No need for it. North men, south men, comrades all???

  5. Wow great reception for people whose families have had to fight for their irishness against prejudice, discrimination and sectarianism for a century since partition. People who are your compatriots and with whole you share culture and history. Easy to have a go at someone when you’re tucked away from all of it.

Seriously on behalf of all the decent and all-island minded people of the Midlands, fuck off with that ignorant shite and grow up.

  6. That’s messed up.Never mind the inaccuracy, the fact that some people think “Prod” or “Brit” is a form of insult tells you everything you need to know about them.

  7. Wouldn’t write the whole of Carlow county off because a few gobshites on their hurling team mouthed off. Hope the management team identifies who it was and has a word.

  8. Didn’t the Dub supporters shout “you’ll never beat the Irish “ when playing Tyrone?
