   A real victory over the Nazis and imperial Japanese occurred only when they became smarter, happier and prosperous, despite the absolute atrocities that they committed not so long ago.

   This is the tragedy of victory of civilization over barbarism.

   Even if someone raped and killed your children, like a humanist, for the sake of humanity, you still have to try to make a rapist a better person.

   At least if he is a little educable and capable of empathy and repentance. Which… There are no any other things more opposite/disgusting to Russian culture code than acknowledgement of mistake/guilt. Which Russians automatically perceived as recognition of weakness and confession of hierarchical subordination. Recognition of oneself as a slave.
