    He needed the election to be close so that if he loses, he can claim the election was stolen

    If he loses in a landslide, that narrative won’t work and he knows it

    Plus he is an old school misogynist and losing to a woman would drive him batshit crazy

  19. As Tom Friedman wrote a few days ago, Trump has entered his “Fat Elvis” phase, doing his greatest hits in front of a declining audience of elderly fans.

  20. Okay, narcissism and psychopathy aside, the guy was shot at. He had the instincts to get a cool picture in the moment, sure, but he’s probably losing his shit at the thought of being outside again.

    Now take the “but this was supposed to be my moment” idea he probably has in his head- Americans are so inoculated to the idea of shootings that we moved on quick from it, especially after finding out it wasn’t so much politically motivated as glory motivated- and he’s frustrated at the lack of fame.

    NOW combine that with his racism and sexism. He’s in disbelief that not only is a both of those things running against him (didn’t he beat a woman thingy before? Why is one of those doing that again?) but she’s winning. The fat L he took at the NABJ, there’s no way he’s not losing his shit.

  24. When I was a kid, there was this fat bully who had picked a fight with a smaller, weaker kid. Just as the “fight” was about to start, that kid’s even smaller sister showed up. The look of fear on that bully’s face was something I’ll never forget. That girl had a fierce reputation at school as a scrapper. She was ready to fuck his shit up and he knew it.

    This feels like that. Trump knows to his cowardly core that Harris is going to humiliate him on the world stage, and he will never recover from it.
