On Monday I saw that Australia was going to cap the number of overseas students to 40%
Then the next day I saw labour denying they were going to so not exactly sure what the situation is there
But it does show there are those with discontent about it everywhere, I suppose because of the accommodation issues and the perception that it takes away space ls from locals
I never had an issue with overseas students personally other than the 2 + 2 student (rich Chinese students that do 2 years in china and 2 years over here) that was a massive money making racket that negatively impacted our learning
Again, not a problem caused by the individual students, but rather the results of successive underinvestment in education, healthcare, housing…
