The article links the cross tabs, and Vance is a whopping **27** points underwater with Independents, which is entirely unheard of for Vice-Presidential candidate.

And I was like, yeah I could see that.
It is hard to think that the GOP could somehow pick a candidate worse than Sarah Palin, but they’re on track to beat it. We just need one good SNL bit and he is toast.

in the absence of other evidence, most people will treat any candidate as ‘generic party-member’.
People who slotted JD in as a generic Republican, are suddenly seeing the actual person, and realizing that, no, he’s a fucked up individual being buoyed up by tech billionaire money.
Imagine how he must feel, betraying all of his ideals to have a shot at power – and then realizing not only does everyone hate you, the people you’re trying to cozy up with *especially* hate you for superficial reasons against the woman you love…
… and everyone hates you so much that you’re not just a national laughingstock, you’re being viewed as actively weighing down the ticket you threw everything away for to support.
His mascara will now drip down from crying on his couch similar to rudy’s black hair dye at the strip club.

He probably should have given a better answer yesterday when a reported asked, “what makes you happy?” and he replied with “taking stupid questions from the press.” Doesn’t bode well for his favorability.
