Hillside wildfire covers Rio de Janeiro in thick smoke

A fire has broken out on a hilltop over Rio de Janeiro, sending plumes of smoke over the Brazilian capital.

Emergency responders managed to get the blaze under control after struggling to reach the fire’s hillside location.

Four homes were damaged by the flames, but local authorities reported no casualties.
