Bangladesh: how the ‘gen Z revolution’ forced the prime minister to flee
After 15 years in power, Bangladesh’s prime minister suddenly resigned and fled the country. Sheikh Hasina’s departure, which came after weeks of student-led protests that were met with deadly force, was greeted with jubilation on the streets of the capital, Dhaka.

Over the past month, footage on the ground has shown protesters being beaten and killed, as well as thousands of people storming the prime minister’s residence. The Guardian’s global development reporter, Kaamil Ahmed, explains why students across the country took to the streets and how they escalated into a mass movement that forced Sheikh Hasina to flee the country in a helicopter

Half-assed report. Guardian should do better.
A very lazy report from The Guardian, the reporter looks as if he was forced to do this piece.

I like the calm demeanor of the reporter. And it was clear, and succinct. Thank you.

I'm proud of the Bangladeshis who stood up for themselves and their rights. Governments really should be afraid of their people.
Bangladesh has the best Gen Z in the world. Their revolution will inspire and show the path to the Gen Z around the world to fight against the injustice and inequality.
We are proud for our Gen Z🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Why did The Guardian barely report on this while Hasina's cops and Chhatra League were murdering students? The disinterest was deafening?
What next? The country is going to meet medival age
I m proud to be Bangladeshi 🇧🇩
Sri Lanka leader fled the country, now Bangladeshi leader leaves the country…… convenient

Yay Gen Z !!
Of course PM had to flee because they stormed to her house. 🤣🤣🤣
