Live: Northern Ireland’s Assembly recalled as UK riots intensify
Stormont is recalled on Thursday, 8 August, as Northern Ireland politicians discuss far-right rioting seen in Belfast over the weekend.
MLAs have returned from summer recess for an Assembly sitting to discuss recent scenes of violence on the city’s streets.
It comes as the Irish Congress of Trade Unions is set to lead a rally outside Parliament Buildings in opposition to the rioting seen in the capital on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday evenings following the disorder.

This is another reminder of the FACT that the Austrian Painter and his National Socialist German Workers Party, were/are, FAR-LEFT.
They are adjacent to their sister/cousin ideologies which include, but are not limited to, Stalinism, Fascism, Marxism, Leninism, Bolshevism and Social Democracy.
Islam is not a race, it’s a religion which says that this woman is deficient in intelligence and which says that no man should be asked why he beat his wife and which says such can be done if fear of disobedience is had.
How are people so vulgarly ignorant allowed to run the country when they can barely run their lying mouths?
The people were united on a protest, correct me if im wrong was there not tricolours being flown alongside the union flag and the ulster flag
Starmer wouldn't dare recall his parliament…
Whatever……. No one in power, gives a crap. I never knew how much a child with disabilities here in Northern Ireland could get persecuted so badly and nothing was done. So this is all hogwash. There is no support. So don't lie. It's all just words. I wish one person would tell the truth. Northern Ireland has failed. It fails race hate crime, sectarianism and disability hate crime. I have seen cover ups from head teachers, so that they could still keep an abusive teacher at Ashgrove Primary School and then things were covered up again in Glengormley High School. The Education Authority and even Antrim Hospital have a lot to answer for. We only found out that there is not a neurologist in Northern Ireland anymore. They have all disappeared to other countries. Thousands have been left with only A and E when there is anything that needs urgent sudden care. There is no counselling, either. We have been on the waiting list for three years.
I wish I could leave, but my husband is Northern Irish and he refuses to leave. I can't cope with my child alone who has uncontrolled seizures and autism. It gets extremely scary for me to deal with alone. My son has got persecuted for his sudden illness that happened when he was nine years old after reacting to a nasal flu mist. Suddenly he got serious seizures and autism with regression. He is now almost twenty years old and because of home schooling, has turned him into an almost recluse. …
I will never stop saying what happened to my son. Never.
