Isn’t it funny how people are quite happy when this comes up about Yorkshire. And it does – every olympics we get a “If Yorkshire were independent, it would have come X place in the Olympics”. Totally fine and genuinely a good bit of fun. Indeed, Yorkshire is ridiculously successful at the Olympics in general – well done to them!
BUT… when someone does the same thing for Scotland, again just out of curiosity and for fun, suddenly a load of angry folks come along to the comments to make their opinions known. Weird.
