In most sports I believe it is already quite extraordinary for a single athlete to compete in 3 editions (8 years). But the curve shown here suggests that there is a wide age range.
I think that some sports have steeper curves, but placed in different age brackets, cumulatively creating this graph.

Excellent illustration of peak years of human physical abilities, as well as the steep drop-off after age 30. This also lines up with recent published data from MLB regard bat speed by age, and how the steep drop-off starts right around [30yo](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/s/O7WGUm8KvE)
