I stumbled upon this performance by Benedicte Maurseth and the Constantinople ensemble on YouTube and started watching out of curiosity, I couldn't stop, I'm not religious but it was just such a divine experience, it feels like how I imagine seeing the aurora borealis would feel like. It's called "Nordic light * Persian sky" beautiful combination.
If you find the time, just relax and treat yourself to some other-worldly soundscapes.
I'm also curious to know if it has the same effect on you?

Have you heard her album with Berit Opheim, Tidekverv? It has become one of my favorite albums. Benedicte is a phenomenal musician, but I appreciate her experimental/authoral stuff even more than her traditional playing. There are some real gems on Fodne Ho Svara Stilt as well, which also includes Berit, and Åsne Valland Nordli, who sings on the album Over Tones with Benedicte, which I also adore. Benedicte’s self titled album is also excellent. The traditional tunes are wonderful, but “fargana skfitar på fjorden” really shines. She took this instrument which was made for dances, for weddings, for celebrations, it has such a lively sound, and learned to draw something almost meditational and contemplative out of it. Transcendental, as you say.
