    I really want to take my mother away from here. We were robbed here andtried to kill. The doctor who practically killed us on the loose. Wewere forced to quit. My boss screamed at me how dare I take my mother tothe hospital. We are here as slaves. My mom is still sick. And thedoctor who tried to kill us here is defending. We don’t get sick pay.I’m just shocked by everything that’s going on here. They are stilltrying to make us to blame for everything.

    The photo was taken by my mother in 2014. Dad is behind. We have not been able to receive medical assistance here for 5 months now. And I don’t understand how it was possible to infect us on purpose, and not in quarantine. And then the hospital tried to hide this fact and almost killed us. We found another hospital where my mother was immediately given oxygen. It’s just awful here. We are still accused, as usual. It’s all the common people’s fault. And the doctor who kills people and fakes sick leaves works.

    This is only part of the bad that they did to us here.

  7. My grand-parents still live in that hellhole, in Antratsyt. Currently we are trying to get them to come here, to Austria, and request asylum. Thankfully we haven’t lost any family yet, but we never know what the future for them will look like. Best of luck to you, stay strong✊🏻

  9. I’ve recently seen a document on the Donbass region, and man I’m truly sorry for what’s happening there. Constant “low-intensity fighting”, shots being fired, army in the street! Best of luck man to you and your family in the hopes you can find a safer place to call home!

    EDIT: I’m not denying or saying that the message is false. The image still could include this person’s (who sent the post) relative(s). I just wanted to point this up.

  20. You want to tell a story to the community, however, I assume due to some grammar issues, your English version is a bit confusing. There are Russian and Ukrainian speakers and I believe they could help you to translate what you want to say.

  21. For a subreddit that is made up of multiple nationalities, you all seem to be really bad at negotiating language barriers from someone who isn’t *perfectly fluent* in English.

He was killed in Donetsk (second “here”) and OP’s life was also threatened. Medical care is shit and all he cares about is helping his mom get out.

    Explanation from one of OP’s comments: Corruption is terrible, and OP worries they were infected with COVID on purpose (not going to comment on conspiracy theories, just helping explain). The average person suffers while greater powers fight, and through corruption the doctor is able to maintain his position, even though OP thinks he’s killing people. They can’t get medical care, they can’t get out, they just struggle through the daily life of dealing with unrest, military occupation, COVID cases, and a failing infrastructure.

    Also, for those of you challenging whether he’s Russian or Ukrainian: the line is indeed blurred, especially in eastern Ukraine. Kievan Rus, what many consider to be the origin of modern day Russia, was in fact centered on Kiev in modern day Ukraine. The languages are super similar, and the USSR blurred the lines even further by forced internal movement. So choosing an ethnicity/nationality is often as much a personal/political decision as it is a historical one. (Source: husband is Russian, son of a Ukrainian)

    Withholding your empathy until you can confirm that it’s Russians threatening this mans life and not Ukrainians.

  26. Well if you live in Donetsk you can go either to Russia or Ukraine. Problems start if you declined Ukrainian passport for a DPR one and now want to live in Ukraine. You should’ve not supported rebels. But you can move with this passport to Russia and obtain permanent residency at least.
