I see Moldova has a low rate, there is or was a restaurant/fast food chain in the capital with great looking food and the most amazing looking multicolour drinks. All I remember is the drinks come in a jar, a bit like an old dimpled beer mug. And everything looked like on the menu. What’s the chain called anyone know, is there a menu to look at online?
Note that there are more Hesburger restaurants than McDonald’s restaurants in Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and Hesburger is really similar to McDonald’s.
I see Iceland migrating south is becoming a trend
I live in a small city and the only fast food is a Mcdonald of course, they are everywhere
One thing I’m pretty happy about in Belgium, fast food chains don’t do very well here, most either fail completely or are only succesfull enough in some of their establishments.
We really don’t need those chains, plenty of good fast food available from small independents.
Oh I love this. I shall link it every time the UK gets sneered at by our famous gallic gourmand neighbours.
Do McDonalds buns still taste awfully sugary? Haven’t had one in 15 years.
McDonalds are not restaurants, they’re bars.
When malta has more McDonald than albania Macedonia and Montenegro combined
Great job, Greece!
gyros > McDonald’s.
Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia – LEGENDS!
And this is a good measure of a country’s market, not GDP or other artificial values.
They should have a McDonald’s in the Vatican State.
Obligatory fuck McDonalds
I don’t know why Sweden is so obsessed with them. We have Max for crying out loud, a local burger chain. Superior burger, chicken and vegetarian meals
McDonald’s in Sweden mostly function as road stops. You won’t find many McDonald’s restaurants in the cities, but they are very accessible along the main roads and in the outskirts of the cities where people typically enter by car.
Now do one with % of people in each country that eat burgers with a knife and fork.
That will be a shitshow
Always thought the French were quite resistant to Americanisation. Shocked at the figure
Shamefur dispray !
Part of the explanation is “MacDo” (as we call it) is THE most powerful fast food chain here, they don’t have much competition, which sucks.
When I’m in the mood to stuff my face with greasy mystery meat, I would at least like some options.
Belgium has 1 frietkot per 1 inhabitant though
I’ve never had McDonald’s.
I’d note that in Spain, Burger King seems to be much more popular than in other countries. There are actually almost twice as many Burger Kings than McDonald’s. Just something to keep in mind.
Uh oh Bulgaria is not doing too well compared to most of Eastern Europe. Still much better than Western Europe tho.
Shame on you, France. I expected more from you
I just do not understand the French obsession with McDonalds. It’s not even good or cheap fast-food. In a country with such a snobby food culture, they sure like to shovel American garbage down their throats. I just don’t get it.
French cuisine…
France, explain yourself.
I’m not at all surprised that Bosnia is at 1.4 – who would want a Big mac when you can have 10 cevapcici in a hot somun for no money at all on every street corner. It’s more like, how are there even any McD’s at all? Those must be, like airport restaurants or something.
am I the only one that doesn‘t like the wording „restaurants McDonald‘s“ instead of „McDonald‘s restaurants“?
Now show a map with % of overwheight in the population per country.
Frietkoten > McD
La honte.
To hell with McDonald’s. KFS rules!!!
Napoleon didn’t win the Europe. McDonald’s did.
Belgium showing the effects of a culture that’s obsessed with fries. Nothing is ever going to replace our frituren.
