Brussels city authorities ban ‘freedom convoy’ ahead of COVID protest

  1. Maybe the truckers should in return stop sending goods to brussels.

Gonna be interesting to see how brussels would look after 2 weeks.

  2. The notion of needing to ask authorization for a protest in a public place is outrageous to me. At most, the authorities could ask for a notification of a future protest, to prepare for potential instabilities and notify the population, but no authorization for protesting should ever be required in any democratic country, ever.

  3. They are not banned.

The city didn’t authorized them because no one asked them the authorisation. Plus they asked to not bring vehicle into the protest to not paralyze the city

  4. I think any protest using equipment that acts like a tank should be forbidden. Be it trucks or farm tractors, things that don’t belong in cities for obvious reasons should not become the tools or extreme-right terrorism.

This has nothing to do with protesting. So even if they do ask permission for it, they should be denied.
