Rioter bitten on backside by police dog after telling officers ‘I pay your wages’

This is the moment a rioter is bitten on the backside by a police dog after telling officers “I pay your wages”.

Former postmaster and school governor Steven Mailen, 54, and his partner Ryan Sheers, 29, were “at the very forefront of a mob” in the large-scale disturbance in Murray Street, Hartlepool on 31 July.

Sheers, of Powlett Road, is seen taunting officers and encouraging others to use violence before he is bitten by the police dog.

The pair appeared at Teeside Crown Court on Thursday (8 August) and were each handed a prison sentence of two years and two months.

  12. Aren't you clever for raising this a joke. The victim bitten by the dog was simply telling the truth and the officer handling the dog should be investigated for mishandling a weapon! What if it was a black/ Asian islamist stating, we pay your wages and was assaulted by the dog? Do you think your headline would be mentalealth patient victim of racist dog and handler? Officer should be investigated and suspended! You know, just like the officer in Manchester Airport!

  22. He was mouthing off and not being a danger or a threat yet he was fast tracked to jail . He is now a POLITICAL PRISONER . Good luck in the next 4 years labour . You are making a lot of enemies . 80 % of the people did not want you nor did they vote for you . I would hazard a guess it will be a lot less now due to labour robbing the pensioners

  25. I saw police and people… If I understood right, people doesn't like problems with immigrations, police… Who knows what police doing?

  30. "I pay your wages" I highly doubt that. Most of these people don't pay tax and don't contribute to society.

  35. Apparently this was a drunk gay couple on the way back from bingo who were trying to get home after getting more beer. Police blocked their way. Partner got hit with baton, dog set on him… his partner then saw red mist.. 22months in prison. Just keep away from this stuff. Walk the other way. A moments bravado or stupidity can ruin your life 🙁
