Watch again: Sentencing of Liverpool rioters televised from court in rare livestream

John O’Malley, 43, and semi-retired welder William Nelson Morgan, 69, are in the dock.

O’Malley, of Cambridge Gardens in Southport pleaded guilty to violent disorder in Southport, pleaded guilty to violent disorder earlier in the week after rioting outside a mosque in Southport.

Morgan, of Linton Street, Walton was charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in Walton. He pleaded guilty to both charges.

The 69-year-old was part of a group who thew bricks, set fire to bins and buildings, and damaged local businesses in County Road, Walton.

I neighbor I once had was in the street with a hammer and threatening another bloke, the authorities knew about it, he used to have to go to anger management classes, while there he threatened to set fire to the car of who was taking the class, virtually impossible to lock him up, he used to do things every week, I had to use a solicitor to get rid of him and his housing charity, ran by an aristocrat at the tax payers expense. So you can be tooled up and threaten people, not go to prison, but do the same at a demonstration, and its off to prison in the same week with a video to put others off the same.

It goes to show that some men have a limited number of brain cells that actually work: duh, there's a riot, let's get tanked up and swear offensive things at the police and the Muslims, nah, we'll go one step further and damage people's property, pretend we're tough guys and bash police! For gawds sake, when will these types grow up….shameful behaviour of "adults" who are supposed to be figures that children look up to! 🤮

  21. Two frustrated men used as an example to the rest of us that whenever Islam strikes which history shows it always will. We have to just put up with it. Islamic extremism is like a snake that hides in the grass of moderate Isalm. And the snake strikes at random as history proves. But do not lose hope, as this life is very brief, like a vapour. And there is a God who loves us. Jesus Christ. When you surrender to Him, your peace remains no matter how they abuse you as your hope is in something more beautiful than this life.

  26. These guys are going to become heros. This UK government is beyond stupid. Fomenting a revolution by their own people just because they can't call out a medieval religion for what it is, and they refuse to control its influence in their own country. What an unbelievably worthless government.

  27. This is going to affect the American election. This UK government is blowing it on every level. Keir Starmer is a horrid individual. This judge is a clown and a liar. Just because the mass murderer was raised christian doesn't mean the other religion's groups hadn't got to him. This is TOTALLY a terror attack in its MO. And killing young female children means they don't have kids. THIS IS THE STRATEGY OF A CORRUPT RELIGION!
