Russian and Ukrainian sources have confirmed that a Russian KA-52 helicopter was struck by a MANPADS over Kursk and destroyed. The Russians have stated that the pilots did not survive.

    Has anyone seen KA-52 outside of Russia at this point? Seems like they save the few flying ones for domestic emergencies. They made an appearance during the Wagner mutiny, and lost one.

    Another RU post said that these were “real men”, who donned the gear regardless of their rank.

    Dude, they are out of pilots (and probably machines to fly).

15. These KA-52s are actually really good attack copters. They are one of the major factors for why the Ukrainian offensive failed to liberate any significant land. They’re a massive menace to Ukraine. It’s good they’re being shot down.
