Frontline report: Official Russian statements hint at possible withdrawal from Vovchansk

  1. Russia gonna do another “Goodwill gesture” to try and get ANY troops to defend the Homeland currently being curbstomped by a bunch of Ukrainians having the best time of their lives.

  2. The first Ukrainian bridgehead was 150km away from Vovachansk.

The second bridgehead at Pokrov is only 100km away.

They’re now at serious risk of having Ukranian troops loose in undefended territory behind them, destroying their logistics and paths of retreat. I’d be reconsidering my position too if I were them, and wondering when a Ukrainian attack over the border was going to happen 40-50km west.

  3. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://euromaidanpress.com/2024/08/10/frontline-report-official-russian-statements-hint-at-possible-withdrawal-from-vovchansk/) reduced by 90%. (I’m a bot)

    > Official statements from the Russian Northern Group of Forces began in early August to describe their efforts in Vovchansk as "Defensive" against what they termed a numerically superior Ukrainian force.

    > Official Russian statements foreshadow a possible imminent resolution of the situation in Vovchansk, which could materialize in a withdrawal to the field-high areas north of the city.

    > Lastly, the recent Ukrainian incursion into Russian territory from Sumy Oblast could provide the perfect excuse for Russian command to divert resources initially prepared by the Northern Group for the Kharkiv fronts, forcing them to withdraw troops from Vovchansk for a temporary regrouping.

  4. Ukraine wondering if they should just walk to Moscow and end the war for good

  5. I thought this kind of stuff only happens in Hearts of Iron where I send a single mounted unit to rush capture major cities deep behind enemy lines for easy points.

  6. Let’s go Ukraine! If the chef Pregozhin and Wagner can march on Moscow then why not Ukraine forces. Russia is way to confident in their abilities.
