Yes we had a UK General Election in the first week of July. It's been over a month since then. I really want to know how the Holyrood parties (and even parties who aren't in the current parliament but who might make a breakthrough) are faring since then. I check every few days and it's quite frustrating, not being able to check the pulse of the nation. Is there any information about upcoming poll dates from reliable pollsters? Or the relative frequency of when they like to do them when there isn't like an informational blackhole like the UK General Election apparently represents for many week on end, after the event?

See for yourself, there's nothing since that event last month in either constituency or regional polling:

  1. I know the bloke who keeps the polling books, he’s on holiday in Antigua and will be at the keyboard after the 23rd.

  2. On the same article you link you’ll see that there just aren’t many polls in July. Only 2 in the last 3 years and typically they pick up again in mid-August.

Neither UK nor Scottish parliament are usual in session at this time so there isn’t normally much politics happening, and polls are way less indicative than you know actual elections.

  3. Because it’ll likely be very similar to the GE as of now. Nothing has really changed.

  4. A big reason is that now polling companies are re-weighing there polling. Labour underpreformed polls by a fairly decent margain so companies are trying to adjust there methedology a bit rn. That’s why polls are even slower to come out after GE’s then they normally would be.
