  8. I think people want to be careful insisting roles of a sexual orientation can only be played by actors with the same sexual orientation

  9. Joaquin’s wife Rooney Mara played in Todd Haynes’ Carol and always spoke very highly of him. It must be awkward that this is happening now

  16. Idk, I can’t help but think River would’ve knocked Joaquin on his ass for becoming the pompous ass that he’s become. (Maybe River would’ve been the same or worse, who knows. It’s Hollywood, baby!)

  17. I don’t think many gay ppl have problems with straight people playing gay characters because gay ppl are “allowed” to play straight characters. As an aside, this is also the main (or at least for me) issue with cis ppl playing trans characters. Until out trans ppl are “allowed” to play cis roles/love interests in major projects, cis ppl shouldn’t be taking those roles because at the moment those are basically the only roles that exist for them.
