At £145 a ticket for the trip alone, WiFi should 100% be free ffs. Don’t even get me started on the £2 tin of Pepsi.

you’re on a BOAT. plan ahead and bring a book to read
Has it occurred to you that you’re in the middle of the fucking Irish sea and there’s no underground wires?
The fact that they are able to offer you WiFi at all is nothing less than a fucking technological marvel. There’s literally invisible information flying into space and back so you can yap about spending £2.
You’d need to g’way and take your head for a shite, ye moany hure.
They have free WiFi on buses, why not Boats?
If it was free and everyone tried to use it then it wouldn’t work. Having WiFi on ships is still not anywhere close to the levels we are used to having from 5g or fibre optic in the house.
Starlink is the closest on ships to good WiFi but not all ships have it and it still can only support so many users.
WiFi on ferries is always shite anyway, even when free. Bring a book.
You don’t need to pay, they have a free option. It’s slow as shit, but it’s free (and works for email, WhatsApp, reddit etc). £2 is a bargain for the higher speeds and reliability that comes with it. And at least now you can pay the £2 without having to schlep to customer services and buy a voucher. Source: been using Stena ferries for YEARS
Don’t they have a free WiFi for basic browsing and WhatsApp etc? This is just the upgraded version so you can stream videos or music too. It’s been this way for a while now (haven’t been on the ferry since march so it may have changed)
Spend the £30 on a superfast suite. Worth every penny.
Or head up to the spa. £15 and kill a couple of hours in the jacuzzi. People assume it’s expensive so rarely go up.
Did you buy it ? Wondering if its worth it, im due to travel next month on stena.
In fairness you can get decent enough mobile data signal for more than half the journey from what I recall. Though it has been several years for me so that’s likely improved too.
