It’s true for me at least, but I have Austrian and German friends.
Probably. A lot of people see Spanish as pointless to study as they believe they’ll pick it up quickly if they ever need to actually speak it well because we can already understand 90% of it by default. So German or French end up being the choices of a 3rd language for most.
Yes because I am a massive Rammstein (and other german bands) fan, as well as I support Schalke 04, but my German is on a very basic level
Nur ein bisschen
Well, most people know (or think they know) Spanish already. We also have mandatory French in school, so some of us already know it and the others know they don’t want to invest more in it. Italian is also a Latin language, so it doesn’t seem exotic enough for us to want to learn.
It leaves us with German as the remaining big-country-language. Don’t read too much into it, it’s kinda expected.
Yes for me. I’ve been learning German for a few years now
Ja
Yah
A lot of us already know English and can easily pick up Spanish. French and German are the next obvious options due to our immigration choices, but with French you can also pick up quite a bit as at least a part of the same family of languages, while German is a new territory so the usual portuguese standard of “desenrascar” is useless.
Verdade para mim hehe
Ja
maybe
English is already mandatory, French tends to be the popular choice for the second foreign language that we learn.
as for Spanish, we can mostly understand it already, same as Italian (although not as easily as Spanish).
Nos hablamos portinhol, we don’t need spanish we understand it
yes, most useful for work
Yes! German is the language of some rich countries to where we can go and leave our poopcountry. We just want to work for decent money!!
Because our level of English is already quite high, German would follow for sure.
Spanish is a sub-portuguese language: we understand and speak spanish easily, while they do not understand a single word of portuguese.
