It’s a difficult choice for the Polish governments, current and future ones. Closing the coal mines would be quite painful both for the economy and the employment, yet that’s something Poland is bound to do, sooner or later. Going against the EU’s plans about reducing emissions could strongly backfire in the long run, both on international relations and internal politics level. Good of Muller to have watered down those words. I too think that Morawiecki never intended “weapons” and “war” in a literal way, it would be quite silly from him.
