  14. I would honestly adopt the following ranking method.

    – Gold +10
    – Silver +6
    – Bronze +4

    A medal owned in the same discipline suffers a diminishing return of -2.

    This way every medal is worth something and you can’t just focus exclusively on gold for the rankings or a particular discipline.

    Edit: also some additional points if you set a new WR.

  16. I mean making jokes aside, the fact that silver and bronzes don’t count aside from tie breakers is a bit shitty for the athletes.

    Why isn’t it counted 3, 2 , 1 for gold, silver and bronze respectively? Isn’t that more indicative of overall performance rather than just counting golds?

    Or do you want to make the point that the US won? Think about it carefully!

  22. C’mon who in their right mind wants to be running and jumping around in August? That sounds worst than working tbh (that’s why we avoid doing either of those things).

  29. First time I’ve seen a properly sorted table in a while. Other countries keep posting it ordered by gold medal count only so that they look like they did better.
