  1. Thought he’d be our next agüero. Understand his decision, and the deal was fair, but still hurts

  2. I always thought he’d be the main man after Haaland left. Surprised he was able to get his move so quickly after Bernardo has never been able to.

Good luck araña 🕷️ thank you for the goals. I hope you do well but Atleti does poorly

  3. I always thought Haaland wouldn’t extend and he would be the long term. Now I am really hoping we are able to get a Haaland extension to not be in striker purgatory

  4. Hopefully a clause that significantly bumps our sell-on fee should Atleti loan/sell to Barca

  5. For the sake of his career, it’s the right move. The club or Alvarez have to have received some indication that Haaland intends to stay longer than anticipated and the game time Alvarez wants isn’t coming very soon. Hopefully Haaland does stay a while because him leaving after a couple more seasons and Julian leaving now is a double kick in the balls.

  6. I honestly think he is making a silly mistake.. similar to Ferran Torres. He could easily go from being the starting striker for Argentina to bench option. I don’t even think he dislodges Sorloth at the no.9 position, and Madrid have a plethora of second striker options which we don’t really have. His competition is actually harder at Athletico..

He is making a bad decision and would have been much safer staying with us, even with limited game time. As long as we are winning and he is contributing, he will be good enough.

It is what it is. We will be okay.

  7. Can’t fault the dude. Contributed massively to last season’s title push when haaland and kdb were out, and never complained when he was played out of position for the majority of his time here.

He initially signed with city before we even seriously negotiated with haaland, so he’s been performing a role he lowkey didn’t sign up for.

Football careers are short, so i can’t blame him for wanting to seek a more secure starting position elsewhere.

Good luck to him and I hope we can find a decent replacement with the money.

  8. he’s going to put out Ferran Torres level of output. calling it now

  9. Wish him all the best! He gave us his best playing with our Jersey. City did good business with him. Let’s see what Pep has in store for a replacement, or if he plans to play False 9 again when Haaland is absent/resting.

  10. Great deal for both sides. Atl. Madrid gets a great player tailored made for their style and we get a whole bunch of cash. Win win all around

  11. I can’t blame him 🥺 but hoped he’d be with us for longer, wish him the best of luck 🫶
