Kit Harington Agrees ‘Game of Thrones’ Ending Made ‘Mistakes’ and Felt Rushed, but ‘We Were All So F—ing Tired. We Couldn’t Have Gone on Longer’

1. > “I think if there was any fault with the end of ‘Thrones,’ is that we were all so fucking tired, we couldn’t have gone on longer,” Harington said. “And so I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them. But I’m not sure there was any alternative. I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn’t have another season in me.”

   > Harington added that “everyone is entitled to their opinion” as far as the controversial finale, adding: “I think there were mistakes made, story-wise, toward the end maybe. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t quite work.”

2. I’ve always been one of the guys taking major issue with how the showrunners finished the series. Now I’m also a little miffed at Harrington for this lackluster comment… how is “we were tired” a reasonable excuse to torpedo one of the greatest fantasy shows ever…?

   Like, they spent so long building it up and building it up and building it up… just to be too tired for the climax you’ve been leading us to believe was coming?

   Come on, man.

3. It’s not the fact that the series ended, but how stupidly it ended, is what people complain about. We didn’t need another season if we were going to end up in the same place anyway.
